Poll #13

Like breeders, judges have their own interpretation of the standard and not everyone is going to agree. The original intent of dog shows were for breeders to showcase their potential breeding stock, but nowadays, it's more of a sport. If a particuilar judge likes the type of Dane that I am handling, then I'll show to that judge,But I am not about to model my breeding program off the opinion of what a judge puts up in the ring.

I don't find the results in this poll surprising. For myself, if I have a "special" dog, one that I am extremely high on, one with type, head and attitude, I only show it to judges I believe will appreciate the animal the same as I do. Those are the ones I base my breeding program on and frankly, there are too few of those judges.

Poll 13

As usual I find the results from this poll disturbing.
